Black and white photo of grandmas taken with cellphone

Posted by David Khoirul

Three years ago, when I watched a marching band performance in Dengok for the commemoration of Maulid Nabi, the birth of the Prophet, I saw these two old ladies on a pedicap, possibly on their way home. I said to Jhony we had to take pictures of them. My phone ran out its battery so I borrowed his and, as I followed the pedicap running in the middle of the crowds, I captured only one picture.

The photo, two years later, was edited in Photoshop CS3 when I brought Rofiudin’s laptop home in Blimbing for a week. I don’t know where these grandmas come from, but their faces are honest, charming, and unassuming.
