Masjid Baitur Rahim Dengok

Masjid Baitur Rahim DengokMasjid Baitur Rahim, located in the village of Dengok, is one of the most beautiful mosques in the Paciran subdistrict in East Java. It's simple and elegant, with a combination of yellow and green.

Using a five-mega-pixel camera, my friend Ahmad Jhony took this picture as we had some coffee at a kedai kopi near the mosque.

Baitur Rahim mosque was officially signed by Amien Rais, a prominent Indonesian politician, in 2008 marked by a stone inscription attached to a pole. According to Jhony Ahmad, the mosque was built in 1990 and renovated in 2005. Now with a good architecture design, Baitur Rahim is a home -- in fact, baitur itself means home -- for not only local villagers from Blimbing, Brondong and Sedayulawas, but also travelers who happen to drop by the mosque.
