Will Nokia kill Ovi?

Posted by David Khoirul

nokia kill OviNokia announced on Monday it would kill off the Ovi brand. My friend Nenik Ervina, a Nokia user who's active on Ovi, is one of those who are disappointed; Ervina always downloads Symbian games from Ovi to her touch-screen Nokia X6.

Beginning in July and August, the Finnish-based firm will rebrand its Ovi products under Moniker, the Nokia service.

Nokia Conversation blog writes:

The transition from Ovi to Nokia will begin in July this year, with the intention of it being completed across all countries and all services by the end of 2012. It ’ s likely that anybody buying a new Nokia smartphone or mobile phone later this year will start to see the new branding on services included within. However anybody already owning a Nokia phone will see this new rebranding through future software updates.

In fact, there's no need to worry about. The transition is only in a matter of the products naming. The users, services and content remain the same.
