Osama, not Obama, is dead

Osama Obama gaffesYesterday, as I informed my friend Ahmad Jhony about the death of Osama via SMS, I didn't realize I actually typed Obama bin Laden instead of Osama bin Laden, making it a funny joke for Jhony and me. And unfortunately, this also happened to many publications reporting Osama's death.

Geraldo Rivera of Fox News said Obama is dead -- and instantly realized his mistake.

Peter Sagal, while hosting a segment on Osama/Obama similarity in NPR, apologized after he made the mistake on his tweet.

And the BBC, one of the world's most respected media, according to the Daily Mail, declared Obama dead when the news of Osama's death was breaking.

On Twitter, MSNBC chief Washington correspondent Norah O’Donnell accidentally tweeted Obama dead.

CNN wrote there had been "No indication Obama tried to surrender."

Mark Knoller, CBS News White House correspondent, mentioned Obama instead of Osama, not just once, but twice on Twitter.

Indonesia's Metro TV anchor Tascha Liudmila, in a breaking news segment yesterday, said Obama's body was recovered.
