Yellowjacket on chili plant

Posted by David Khoirul

Yellowjacket on the chili leafThis handsome wasp is called yellowjacket, a name commonly used for the genera Vespula in North America. I found this wasp in the front yard before I headed for the mosque to do a Friday prayer today.

Members of this genera are mostly black and yellow, though some are black and white. The wasp alighted on the leaves of my mom's chili plant. Click to enlarge.
