Hoax: Facebook is shutting down on March 15

Facebook closes or shuts down MarchRumors spread in the internet this weekend, saying that social networking site Facebook is shutting down on March 15 because CEO Mark Zuckerberg "wants his old life back." To be frankly, I don't believe this report. Facebook has not released any official words on its closure, and does it make sense that the social network giant will die just after a few days it announced a round of funding from Goldman Sachs and Russian investment firm Digital Sky Technologies?

Mashable, a US-based tech website, has the reasons why you should not belive these rumours.

Would Facebook announce a shutdown just a few days after announcing a round of funding , consisting of $450 million from Goldman Sachs and $50 million from Russian investment firm Digital Sky Technologies, on a valuation of $50 billion?

The rumour was brought by a site -- sorry, I can't mention the link here -- that circulated false reports of the pregnancy of Michelle Obama, US first lady, and the attacks of alien spaceships.

So it's now clear whether you will believe such rumours, the ones that come from an unreliable source, or not.
