RIM promises to block porn web sitesBlackberry decides to filter its porn sites. Research in Motion (RIM), the Blackberry manufacturer, promises that it will block porn contents after Communications Minister Tifatul Sembiring gave two weeks to comply. The Minister will kick out the firm from the country unless it activates the filtering software against porns.

If RIM really filters its web content, then it will be the first filtering ever done by the service.

"We've heard about RIM saying it will filter the Internet.... That's good news to us and we highly appreciate that," communications ministry spokesman Gatot Dewa Broto said.

Starting to enter Indonesia in 2009, RIM set up a service center in the country at the request of the goverment.

Later on Monday, RIM, whose service has been used by more than 10 million Indonesians, will meet goverment officials to discuss how the filtering should be done.
